Very fine detailed Miniature Harpsichords by Leonardo Cerante.
I'm presenting now an unique model of miniature harpsichord inspired by Dutch constructors of real instruments. In fact, this kind of miniature is unique in the world and 100% hand made.
I currently paint them in three different colours embellished by golden frames and wallpapers of the same colour base of the panels, the stool and lid.
The scale is actually approx. 1:16th, measuring 14cm (from the tail to the keyboard) in length, very suitable for dollhouse decoration although the level of detailling on these pieces is pretty much superior in comparison to ordinary dollhouse furniture. So, I actually recommend using the miniatures as decoration in a glass case display or table top.
Each piece is unique since I create them one by one guided by inspiration that comes while I work. The soundboard is actually 100% hand painted with oils. Even the look of wood with its texture lines and knots, everything is painted to simulate real wood. The florals on the soundboards are painted with very tiny and pointy brushes.
I also included some metallic details such as tuning pins and a tuning key, transposing knobs, a lute stop lever, hinges and the strings of course, using copper and brass.
The legs and lid support rods were turned using a mini lathe that I built just for this purpose :-)
If you have any interest in acquiring one for yourself, please don't hesitate to contact me! I'm actually working on announcing the pieces on ebay. The prices for these items should be between $110 to $160 USD. More news soon!
